Ron Lee is a serial entrepreneur, having co-created five companies in the telecom, wireless internet and aviation entertainment industries since 1986. Ron is a civilian professional demonstration skydiver, holds a US Parachute Association PRO (Professional Demonstration Skydiver) rating, serves as a USPA Safety & Training Advisor, and has just over 7,000 skydives. He serves as CEO and Chief Inspiration Officer for Skydiving Innovations, a skydiving entertainment company he and his wife started in 1986, and Tactical Drone Solutions – a company specializing in unmanned aerial systems and services that support the police, fire and first-responder requirements for persistent aerial surveillance and communications.
Since 1988, Ron has actively recruited current, former, and retired members of the Naval Special Warfare community to serve as the basis for Skydiving Innovations’ team of professional demonstration skydivers. Staffed with these extraordinary Special Operations patriots, Skydiving Innovations has performed nearly 500 aviation events in its 37-year history. Among other accomplishments, the company gained the record for executing for the largest demonstration jump in any US city when it produced the 100-skydiver branding and activation segment for T-Mobile's new cell phone release in San Francisco.
“Risk Is Good”- For Ron personally, questioning customary ideas about these intense life experiences resulted in galvanizing moments of understanding. As his audiences learn early on, “there can be enormous value in experiencing fear, risk, struggle and failure”. With more than thirty-seven years of skydiving, entertainment, leadership and real-world business ownership experience, Ron has discovered that some elements of personal creativity and vision flourish with the deliberate exercise of meaningful, intelligent, and justifiable risk. Ron believes it is our voluntary and deliberate embrace of intense challenge and appropriate risk that stokes the creative fires of the human brain. Our steps into the realm of repeated risk-challenge helps result in the long-term outcomes we desire.
As Ron tells his audiences, “Epiphanic moments result from a risk-rich existence”.
With his compelling and often humorous narratives of the real-life experiences as a professional exhibition skydiver, Ron connects the dots between deliberate, intelligent, and manageable risk, situational discomfort (fear and self-doubt), the “must not fail” nature of professional skydiving entertainment and the resulting evolution in thinking that leads to greater understanding, confidence, accomplishment, happiness, and personal success. He defines this path for audiences, leaving them with the tools needed to accomplish greater goals, master and channel fear and insecurity, and deliberately evolve their most creative selves. Ron also shares his straightforward three-step process for a happier, more fulfilling personal and professional life.
Ron is an FAA Part 107-certificated commercial drone pilot and possesses myriad authorizations for drone flight operations in controlled airspace. He serves on the San Diego Airport Advisory Committee as the subject-matter-expert for parachuting and drone operations. Ron holds the world record for the most parachute jumps ever made on to an aircraft carrier.
