Our American Flag Protocol

Quite deliberately, the American 'flags" we jump are not official flags of the United States - they are custom-made banners designed to represent the ensign of the United States. These banners are not accurate in the exact dimensions or colors of the United States flag, and therefore fall outside the requirements of the United State Flag Code. 

Our banners are designed and constructed to take the significant forces that occur with our kind of aviation activity.  While it is impossible to land a large flag or banner of any kind without it touching the ground before or when the jumper does, we work tirelessly to ensure that it is secured from the ground immediately upon landing. Our team of dedicated professionals, along with the myriad volunteers we recruit for this element ensure this. 

Thus, while we jump banners rather than flags, every Skydiving Innovations team member, (civilian or military) treats each banner with the utmost respect, deference and love. Our protocol for "flag" jumps is specific and overtly designed to demonstrate our reverence and respect for our flag and our nation.
